Arn Anderson On Being Released, Dolph Ziggler’s WWE Status

– Several weeks ago, WWE released Arn Anderson in a shocking move. It was later reported that Anderson allowed Alicia Fox to wrestle while intoxicated at a recent live event. Since then, there have been conflicting reports if Anderson knew that Fox was inebriated until it was too late. Still, he was fired after 18 years with the company and he finally broke his silence.

“I was fortunate enough to work with WWE for 18 years,” said Anderson to Sports Illustrated. “Certainly that provided my family and myself with a nice living, and I have no regrets. A lot of my best friends still work there. Everything has a shelf life, and I guess mine ran out.”

Even after a controversial exit, Anderson stayed professional when taking about his time in WWE. We will have to see if Anderson lands in a backstage role for All Elite Wrestling or decides to exit the pro wrestling business.

There is still no word on Fox’s status with WWE.

– Dolph Ziggler has spent a lengthy time in WWE, which has seen major pushes mixed with spots closer to the bottom of the roster. As of now, Ziggler is working on a handshake deal with WWE.

“It’s weird because for the last two years I’ve had somewhat of a handshake agreement; kind of behind closed doors deal with WWE,” said Ziggler to 98.5’s Wrestling Inside the Ropes. “I’ve been able to do a lot of things, on my own, not at WWE, just because of the relationship we’ve had for the last 14 years. I have a bit of a handshake agreement right now, but we’ll know some more details in the coming months.”

Ziggler last worked the Royal Rumble, receiving a major pop and lasting a few minutes before being tossed over the top rope. He spent most of the last year working alongside Drew McIntyre before working a program against him.

Ziggler is booked during WrestleMania weekend for non-WWE related events, but will be in the tri-state area. So, there is still a possibility WWE finds a spot for Ziggler on their WrestleMania 35 card.
