Sasha Banks Injured? + News On Returning Superstar

-Per wwe.com, Sasha Banks re-injured her shoulder on Monday Night RAW. This left Bayley short-handed, which didn’t help matters. The Boss and Hug Connection was on the losing end of their match on RAW, which means they will be one of the first two teams in the Elimination Chamber. That match will determine the first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Considering that it has long been rumored that Sasha and Bayley were considered the favorites to be the inaugural champions, this injury is worth monitoring. It could be part of the plan to make it look like the duo overcome longer odds to claim the titles. It could also be a legitimate and severe enough injury that WWE is forced to alter plans and go in a different direction.

Considering the rumored big match for WrestleMania, one which would have featured the new tag team champions against Lita and Trish Stratus, any possible changes to that could be significant.

-In case you missed it, we got ourselves a new Kevin Owens vignette on RAW this week. When you consider how Owens has always been presented on WWE television, it was a marked departure. The video clip featured Owens at a bowling alley with his family. He talked about his impending return. He also then threw a gutter ball and laughed about it.

The video presented Kevin Owens in a decidedly babyface light. Based on reports from the Wrestling Observer, that was the plan. WWE is planning to bring Kevin Owens back as a top babyface.

In the video, Kevin Owens mentioned he was about a month away. The Observer went on to suggest that a WrestleMania match for the returning Owens was not out of the question. If The Kevin Owens Show did return in “about a month”, that’s roughly early March. That still leaves several weeks of shows to hype whatever program WWE might have in store for him.

With top star Roman Reigns out indefinitely, Dean Ambrose leaving and many top free agents opting for All Elite Wrestling, getting Kevin Owens back soon (and using him as a babyface) could be a huge boost for WWE.
