Major Superstars Heading to Main Roster – Here’s the Lowdown!

Unexpectedly and pretty much out of the blue, Triple H announced that some of NXT’s biggest stars would be moved to the main roster this week including Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Ricochet, and Aleister Black. Not a big NXT watcher? No worries, because we have you covered!

Who Is Tommaso Ciampa?

Tommaso Ciampa is the current NXT Champion. He is also a former NXT Tag Team Champion, which he won as one member of tag team D.I.Y. with his tag team partner Johnny Gargano.

On the NXT roster, Ciampa had an epic rivalry with his formal tag team partner Johnny Gargano. Turning heel unlike anyone has ever turned heel before, the matches were considered as some of the best NXT had ever seen. No wonder we should be excited about this vicious champion coming to the main roster.

Here are some of Ciampa’s NXT highlights:

Who Is Johnny Gargano?

One of NXT’s most beloved baby faces turned heel, and it was good! Gargano has put on some of the best matches on the roster, whether he was face or heel. He also won the tag team championships alongside Tommaso Ciampa and is the current NXT North American Champion.

Due to his technical ability, Gargano is often referred to as Johnny Wrestling. Fans show their support for Gargano with his preferred smiley face icon. It’s often seen in the crowd during NXT matches. Of course, that smiley face has changed considerably since he turned heel.

Here are some of Gargano’s highlights:

Who Is Aleister Black?

Martial artist expert and outright scary dude Aleister Black will give Daniel Bryan a run for his money. Black is a former NXT Champion and had matches with the likes of Velveteen Dream, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and other amazing names on the roster. Much like the other two wrestlers in this overview, he has been responsible for some of the best NXT matches.

Here are some of Aleister Black’s highlights:

Who Is Ricochet?

Even before he came to the WWE, Ricochet was one of the biggest indie talents. I have been following him since he wrestled for Lucha Underground under the name Prince Puma (although this is not officially acknowledged). I was excited for his arrival at NXT, and like I expected he did not disappoint.

Ricochet is one of the most interesting high-flyers worldwide and is a former NXT North American Champion. He had matches with the likes of Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, The Undisputed Era, and more. I cannot wait to see what he brings to the main roster (and I hope Vince does not ruin him like other NXT superstars in the past).

Here are some Ricochet highlights to snack on:
