– The WWE Universe is still reeling from last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW that saw Roman Reigns return to the squared circle in an emotional promo where he announced he was in remission.

As The Big Dog was leaving the ring after the announcement, Seth Rollins made his way to the ramp, and the two shared a hug, as The Architect officially welcomed his Shield mate back into the WWE fold.

The moment was heartwarming for the two superstars and their fans. Having said that, Fightful.com is reporting that Dean Ambrose was given the choice to join the two; however, he opted out and decided against a group hug with Rollins and Reigns.

Regardless of the decision, it seems as WWE Creative is working on Shield reunion, with Reigns and Rollins coming in to save Ambrose later last night, when he was attacked by Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Elias. There seems to be rumblings that The Shield may end up coming together to participate in an eight-man tag come the Fastlane pay-per-view, scheduled for Sunday, March 10th, which would include Braun Strowman, in addition to the heels mentioned above.

– Speaking of returns, Batista made an explosive one last night when he crashed Ric Flair’s 70th birthday celebrations during the close of RAW. The Hollywood actor’s target was HHH; however, he took out his aggression on The Nature Boy, attacking the two-time WWE Hall of Famer before he was supposed to come out for his much-publicized party.

Seems weird that Batista would play heel in this program, considering his main stream popularity, while HHH plays the face, but this is the land of sports entertainment after all, where everything and anything can happen.

Dave Meltzer chimed in on this storyline during his Wrestling Observer Radio program, stating that Batista may have asked to come back as a heel, thanks to what happened in 2014 during his last return and WWE run. For those who may not remember, Batista made an explosive WWE comeback at that point in time, winning the Royal Rumble that year. He was a babyface, but the crowd was fully behind Daniel Bryan and his YES Movement, so while he was promised a WWE title and Wrestlemania XXX main event, plans changed drastically, and DB was inserted into the bout. The rest is history. The superstar received a tremendous amount of boos and jeers on his Road to Wrestlemania from the WWE Universe, and Batista would end up leaving the WWE shortly after the Grandest Stage of Them All.

So, it makes sense why The Animal decided to skip all the pleasantries and go straight to getting some heat, working as a heel this time around.
