The Lady of the WWE Versus the Empress of Tomorrow?

Originally, there were rumors that Lacey Evans would face Asuka at Elimination Chamber. However, the SmackDown Women’s Championship was not defended on that pay-per-view, which leads to speculation that the match could take place at WrestleMania 35. Unfortunately, giving the lack of investment so far, it could also mean the title could be defended on the preshow.

Questions About This Match and The Call-Up?

I have to be honest. While I adore Lacey Evans as a strong woman with an outstanding work ethic, I have some doubts Evans is ready for a match such as this one. While she has worked out a brilliant character for herself, is Evans ready to take on the likes of Asuka?

Asuka has been in the wrestling business for a much longer time including three years on NXT with a 510-day undefeated streak. Evans, on the other hand, only spent one year in NXT before she was called up to the main roster. Will this difference in experience cost a potentially good match?

I would like to state that this is no attack on Evans whatsoever. She has done what not many women can on the main roster. She created a character that stands out and makes her unique. However, the WWE has not exactly built her properly lately. They are so focused on her gimmick, they have left out the wrestling part. Isn’t that what we are supposed to be seeing? Her wrestling acumen?

If the rumours are true and this match is going ahead, I hope the pair put in some serious prep work. That being said, I would be interested in viewing this match and I hope all goes well for Evans, since all eyes will be on her.
