WWE fans are still reeling from the report that top superstar Dean Ambrose was said to be leaving the company after Wrestlemania 35. It stated that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion  was said to be dissatisfied with the creative direction, and even rejected a hefty raise and multi-year deal offered by the company. He thus choice against renewing his contract, set to expire after WM.

While the report was shocking, the WWE just released a statement confirming that Dean Ambrose is set to the leave the company, come April. Below is their statement, which can be found of WWE.com:

Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April.

We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.

With this news, there has been a ton of speculation today about Dean Ambrose, with WrestleVotes stating that plans were changed around a big surprise at this past Sunday’s Royal Rumble because of Ambrose’s departure. Apparently, he gave WWE Officials his notice this past weekend. Makes sense as his RR participation lack luster, and the clean win Seth Rollins had on his this past Monday Night RAW. Fans are also speculating that it seemed as if Ambrose was going to cut a pipebomb promo last night, and was quickly interrupted by Nia Jax; but, this is all speculation.

Will Dean head to All Elite Wrestling? Might be the perfect fit for him at this point in his career, and it would be huge win for AEW. Reports indicate that money is not an issue with Ambrose, he’s made quite a lot of money from his WWE run and thanks to living a humble lifestyle, he’s not in dire need; rather, it has been reported, Dean is looking for solid creative direction.

WNZ will keep you posted on any further developments on this story.
