Will Shawn Michaels Wrestle Again? + Unusual Young Bucks WWE Contract Offers

-In what was one of the stories of the year for 2018, Shawn Michaels returned to the ring as a wrestler for one match. This return sparked rumors and speculation that HBK was going to be working additional matches in 2019. Fans were anticipating at least one more WrestleMania match out of Michaels, if not more.

However, it now seems as though Shawn Michaels‘ return for both Crown Jewel and Super Show-Down will be it. Michaels recently spoke to Sky News and said bluntly: “I no longer want to wrestle”. Now, this declaration does not preclude him from being in someone’s corner. It does not prevent him from being brought back for other segments. But it does appear as though the WWE Hall of Famer is once again happy in retirement.

Considering all of the bumps he’s taken throughout his career, it’s no surprise that the former champion would be content to not take any more bumps.

– We now know that the Young Bucks will not be joining WWE anytime soon, thanks to their involvement with All Elite Wrestling. We are now learning just how creative WWE was willing to get in order to land the talented duo (and likely other members of The Elite as well).

Wrestling Observer reports that, during negotiations with Triple H, the Young Bucks were offered contracts that included an unprecedented out clause after six months. That meant, should the Young Bucks be unhappy with things in the first six months, they could walk away from the deals.

Hunter is also said to have offered to bring their “Being The Elite” program onto the WWE Network, giving it a weekly slot. There may have been other sweeteners offered to them and other members of The Elite as well.

In the end, however, we know that the Young Bucks, along with Cody Rhodes and other members of The Elite, have gone out on their own (with backing from the Khan family) and started All Elite Wrestling. It would seem that, no matter how nice the offer was, those stars were determined to take their own path.
