Will AJ Styles Re-Sign With WWE Or Join AEW? + Top Star On Hiatus

– There is no secret that AJ Styles’ WWE contract ends around April. WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) both want the international star to sign with their respective promotion. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned how the belief is Styles will remain with WWE.

“Even though the Young Bucks are his friends and as Executive Vice Presidents they would want him to come and everybody would want him to come,” said Meltzer. “But, you know and I can’t say the reasons why. I can say that he is probably staying with WWE,” said Meltzer.

Styles will challenge WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at tonight’s Royal Rumble and has been rumored for a bout against Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 35. As for the future, Styles could always re-sign with WWE and later join AEW.

– Dolph Ziggler and his current status with WWE is always up in the air. Sometimes there is talk of Ziggler re-signing with WWE and then there are reports he is leaving. Chris Van Vliet spoke to Ziggler, who stated he is on hiatus from WWE.

“For now, I am on a hiatus from WWE,” said Ziggler. “It took me like ten years to get a weekend off and this is it. So, we’ll see how it goes. Like I said, it’s a handshake different thing than what’s on paper and I’ve given everything and we’ll see if there is more for me to give and I’d be happy to do it.”

As of now, Ziggler is not booked for the Royal Rumble and he mentioned having another commitment that day involving a comedy routine a few blocks away. Of course, he could always pop in for a quick appearance in the Rumble Match.

2018 was one of Ziggler’s better years in recent memory. He would be partnered with Drew McIntyre and work close to the main event scene. After losing the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships, McIntyre and Ziggler went their separate ways. They had a few matches, with McIntyre ending the feud by defeating Ziggler in a steel cage match on the December 31 taped episode of RAW. He has not appeared on TV since that loss.

Below is the complete interview from Ziggler.
