Why Finn Balor Worked Takeover Blackpool, WWE Signs New Talent

– The first Takeover show produced by NXT UK delivered from start from to finish, with the wild crowd even chanting if Vince McMahon was watching. While we saw new champions crowned and the debut of WALTER, there was another shocker. During the show, Jordan Devlin injured Travis Banks with a sneak attack. Despite having no opponent for Takeover Blackpool, there was a backup plan as Finn Balor made a surprise appearance to challenge his former student.

They fought for around 12 minutes before Balor secured the three count. The idea behind the first Universal Champion appearing was to give the fans something extra for the inaugural NXT UK Takeover event. Judging by the reaction Balor received, the idea worked.

As for Banks, he is expected to continue his angle with Devlin on the NXT UK brand. Even though Devlin lost, there is said to be major plans for him going forward.

– WWE has signed former three time X-Division Champion Trevor Lee. The announcement was made by Lee during a CWF Mid-Atlantic show this weekend. We are still waiting to hear if he will go to NXT or one of the main roster brands like RAW, SmackDown and 205 Live.

Lee worked for Impact Wrestling since 2015 and left at the end of 2018 as his contract expired. Besides being a multiple time X-Division Champion, he also held the tag team titles.
