Do you feel that cool breeze? Yeah, that’s the whole world cooling on the notion of Paige VanZant‘s stardom.
For a while there, she was the hottest of hot prospects. Sure, she took some lumps in the cage – against Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson in particular – and we learned she wasn’t quite ready to be the champ of any division. But she was dancing up a storm on “Dancing With the Stars”, and she was a walking Reebok advertisement.
But Reebok has since dropped her, and her time in the cage has been sparse. Wherefore art thou, Paige VanZant?
She’s actually fighting on the next UFC card, taking on Rachel Ostovich at UFC on ESPN+1. But given Ostovich’s recent domestic violence issues, it’s pretty much guaranteed that all eyes are going to be on Ostovich and not our girl Paige.
I don’t really have any more of an observation to make other than the world seems to have gotten chill about her. We’ll see if that changes after next weekend.
