Update On Lars Sullivan Debut And WrestleMania Match

-As everyone knows, Lars Sullivan has been advertised as “coming soon” to the main roster as far back as Survivor Series. For two months, we have seen vignettes prepping RAW and SmackDown fans for his arrival. Other NXT call-ups have been spotted working dark matches on RAW and SmackDown, but so far, no Lars.

In the time since his first “coming soon” vignette aired, reports had surfaced that, once Lars Sullivan arrived, he was in for a huge push. Supposedly Vince McMahon is enamored with his look and persona, and envisions him as WWE’s next monster heel. Initial thoughts were to have Sullivan work on both RAW and SmackDown as a monster heel free agent. Those plans fell by the wayside with the McMahon’s announcement of changes coming to both shows.

Now, word has come out that Lars Sullivan was at RAW last week and possibly expected to be involved, but was not. Initial reports indicated that the Superstar may have suffered a panic attack or anxiety attack. With other WWE employees having experienced similar issues (such as Mauro Ranallo), WWE would no doubt be empathetic to Sullivan in this scenario.

However, new reports are emerging that a panic attack may not explain Sullivan’s RAW absence. Wrestling Observer reported that, if Sullivan had indeed suffered a panic attack, it was not as serious as initially reported.

Elsewhere, WresteVotes paints a different story. They are reporting that Sullivan was actually never at RAW or SmackDown last week. This conflicts the Observer report that Sullivan was there, but suffered the attack and was not on television.

This calls into question Sullivan’s status moving forward. Presumably The Freak will clear things up with WWE brass in order to keep his expected push on track. It was previously reported by the Observer that, if things go to plan, Lars Sullivan is expected to fight John Cena at WrestleMania. Whether that match now happens, remains to be seen.
