Nevada Commission Announces Fines & Suspensions For Khabib Nurmagomedov & Conor McGregor

The Nevada Commission has announced the fines and suspensions Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are receiving, on account of the post-fight brawl at UFC 229. As many expected would be the case, the latter and lightweight champ’s are more severe.

The Nevada Commission ruled today that Nurmagomedov has been fined $500,000 and retroactively suspended for 9 months, for jumping over the cage and attacking McGregor’s corner at UFC 229, October 6th.

If the lightweight champ participates in an anti-bullying campaign, however, his suspension could be reduced to six months. If that happens, Khabib could be eligible to fight by April 6th.

McGregor, meanwhile, has been suspended $50,000 and suspended for six months due to his involvement in the incident. The former champ will be eligible to fight again the aforementioned, April 6th date.

Nurmagomedov’s teammates, Zubaira Tukhugov and Abubakar Nurmagomedov, were suspended for one year and fined $25,000 each as a result of their actions during the melee.

So, now it will be interesting to see what unfolds in the coming days, now that the UFC has timelines for both Khabib and Conor, in terms of their next bouts.

Nurmagomedov defended the lightweight title at UFC 229, by submitting McGregor in the fourth round.
