neal mcdonough fired sex scene

Actor Neal McDonough just spoke out to reveal to fans that he was fired from the ABC television show “Scoundrels” for refusing to perform in a sex scene on camera.

Fox News reported that McDonough was fired from the show after refusing to do a sex scene with his costar Virginia Madsen. After refusing to do the scene, he was abruptly replaced by David James Elliott just three days into filming, losing as much as $1 million in the process.

“I was [surprised], and it was a horrible situation for me,” he said. “After that, I couldn’t get a job because everybody thought I was this religious zealot. I am very religious. I put God and family first, and me second. That’s what I live by. It was hard for a few years.”

“I won’t kiss any other woman because these lips are meant for one woman,” McDonough added.

McDonough is a devout Catholic who has been married to model Ruvé Robertson since 2003, and he has five children with her. He’s so devoted to her that he has refused to kiss anyone else onscreen since their marriage. He even refused to kiss anyone while appearing on the hyper-sexual television show “Desperate Housewives” back in 2008.

“When [creator] Marc Cherry signed me, I said, ‘I’m sure you know, but I won’t kiss anybody,’” the actor recounted. “He was like, ‘But this is ‘Desperate Housewives!’ I said, ‘I know.’ He paused for about five seconds and said, ‘All right, I’m just going to have to write better.’ And we had a great time.”

In Hollywood right now, liberal actresses are being applauded for refusing to do sex scenes, which they feel have become sexist and demeaning to them. These actresses have been getting tons of attention for their strong stances on sex scenes, yet when McDonough says that he won’t do one for Christian reasons, he is virtually ignored by Hollywood. McDonough deserves to be applauded for the loyalty he has shown to his wife and to God just as much as anyone in the #MeToo movement.
