Ringside Intel brings you a recap and results for tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw (01/07/2019) broadcast. Pre-show starts at 7:50 pm EST and the main show at 8 pm EST. Vince McMahon opens the show to shake things up. Tweet and follow @RingsideIntel on Twitter.
Show opens up and Seth Rollins is brawling with Bobby Lashley. The rest of the roster tries to keep them separated but they continue to get at each other as they fight around the main stage. As some semblance of order is established, John Cena’s music hits and he comes out to the ring. He says he is going to step up, as the road to WrestleMania begins tonight. He plans to earn his golden ticket by entering the Royal Rumble match. Then Drew McIntyre comes out.
McIntyre says, unlike others, he doesn’t care about Cena’s personal life. He cares about Cena’s 16 world championships. McIntyre admits that Cena is the greatest of all time, and McIntyre has a reputation for taking out all-time greats. Now, he’s come for Cena. Cena responds that he has heard the same thing every week from everybody else. What makes McIntyre any different? McIntyre says the others were all talk, but not him. McIntyre charges to the ring but before the two men can scrap, Lio Rush comes out with Bobby Lashley.
Rush says something needs to be done about Rollins and the show will be cancelled until someone does so. Rollins ambushes Rush and Lashley and then a brawl ensues involving all four men. Finn Balor joins the fray as well and it is pandemonium as it cuts to commercial.
During the break this match was made. Rollins, Balor & Cena pull out the victory.

Backstage Rollins tells Triple H he wants to face Dean Ambrose for his Intercontinental Championship. H agrees and says the match will happen tonight and it will be Fall Count Anywhere.
***
Hulk Hogan comes out and cuts a promo in tribute to the late Mean Gene Okerlund.
***
Gable gets a pin and the ref hits the 3-count even though Scott Dawson had his foot on the ropes. This is the second controversial win for Gable & Roode against The Revival.
***
Elias is in the ring playing guitar and doing his shtick. He talks some smack about Baron Corbin and then Corbin comes out and starts firing back angrily. Elias tells him to shut his mouth and they get ready for their match.
Elias has success for most of the match until Corbin delivers an End Of Days for the victory.
***
IC Champ Dean Ambrose cuts a promo backstage about his match against Seth Rollins for the title.
***
Braun Strowman comes out to the ring. He calls Universal Champion Brock Lesnar out to the ring for a fight. Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman appear on the big screen and Heyman starts cutting a promo, however they do not oblige Strowman’s request to come out to the ring. Strowman tells Lesnar he’s waiting for him and then they all just stand awkwardly around doing a whole lot of nothing. Strowman drops a few insults as Lesnar laughs it off. This is probably the stupidest promo segment in championship history.
But then finally Lesnar decides to go out there. Heyman tries to talk Lesnar out of it but Lesnar is resolute as he steps toward the ring area. Lesnar circles around the ring but doesn’t step up between the ropes. Strowman eyes him down expectantly, but Lesnar ends up walking back up the aisle. Strowman angrily tells Lesnar to turn back around. Lesnar has no intention of acquiescing, and Strowman yells that he’ll be crowned new Universal Champion at Royal Rumble.

Crews & Moon pick up the win.
***
Alexa Bliss comes out for an edition of A Moment of Bliss. Her guest is Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey talks trash about Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch and then puts over Sasha Banks, calling her the real Rocky Balboa of the WWE. Nia Jax comes out and takes umbrage with this claim and then Banks comes out and challenges Jax to a match right now. Bank steps down to the ring to await Jax but Jax takes a seat up on the main stage, seemingly in no hurry to get down there.
The winner will face Rousey for the championship at Royal Rumble. Banks secures the victory and title shot against the champ.

Match gets underway. They eventually brawl their way to the backstage area, using anything they see around them as a weapon. They continue their slobberknocking through the audience, back toward the ring area. Ambrose delivers a chairshot to Rollins’ back and pins on the ringside floor for a 2-count. The crowd chants “We want tables!” Ambrose pulls the floor mat up to reveal the cement floor beneath it. Rollins ends up coming back and hits a superkick and a Stomp in the ring.
Rollins goes for the pin but Bobby Lashley ends up pulling Rollins out of the ring and starts beating the snot out of him. The crowd boos and chants “Lashley sucks!” Lashley hits Rollins with a big Spear in the ring and stands over him, beholding his handiwork. Ambrose slowly crawls over to Rollins and drapes an arm on top of him. The ref hits the 3-count. Dean Ambrose retains the title.
After the match, Lashley and Lio Rush set up a table in the ring. Rollins still doesn’t know where he is. Lashley lifts Rollins up in the air and breaks him through the table.
