Could X-Pac Wrestle Again + Was A Major Superstar Pushing For Ali Call?

-On a recent WINCLY podcast, WWE Legend X-Pac spoke openly about his in ring future options and his Legends contract status. As a WWE Legend, there are nice benefits. X-Pac appears from time to time and gets to work with WWE, so it can’t be all that bad.

However, on the podcast, X-Pac revealed that he’s considering not renewing his contract with WWE. The reason? He claims he’s been approached by a promotion (or promotions) offering an opportunity to wrestle in meaningful matches. Of course, since X-Pac (Sean Waltman) is under contract with WWE, he isn’t going to speak more openly about any opportunities.

This one is worth watching. Waltman is, of course, a member of The Kliq. He’s friends with Triple H too. It could be presumed that one such interested organization might just be All Elite Wrestling. WWE will have its hands full trying to retain talent interested in leaving, and while Waltman is not an active wrestler at this point, his departure could be a devastating move due to his relationships.

If Waltman is actually able to wrestle and interested in doing so, I think WWE should be considering having X-Pac step back in the ring under a WWE Superstar’s contract.

-Recently, Mustafa Ali made the leap from the heart of 205 Live, to the darling of SmackDown’s first month of 2019. He was called up to work a match with WWE Champion Daniel Bryan in January, and the match impressed a lot of people.

Ali recently appeared on a Talk is Jericho podcast to discuss the call up and other things (it will be interesting to see if WWE curbs these appearances moving forward, given Jericho’s current employer).

During the podcast, Ali didn’t flat out confirm that Daniel Bryan was why he was now a full-time roster member of SmackDown Live. However, based on Mustafa Ali’s praise of Daniel Bryan, it’s entirely possible that the WWE Superstar and current champion was a strong advocate for bringing Ali full time to the blue brand. Thus far, it’s proven to be a wise decision.

Introduced to professional wrestling in the 1980's thanks to Superstars and Saturday Night's Main Event, John's passion for the medium was reborn thanks to ECW in the 90's. A former in-ring "talent" with a career 0-2 record, he finds it more rewarding, and far less painful, to write about wrestling now.
