Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger Receive Well Wishes From Unexpected Person

Details surrounding the engagement of actor Chris Pratt and author Katherine Schwarzenegger have become public since the couple’s announcement Monday on Instagram. Many famous and unexpected well-wishers have publicly congratulated the couple, including Katherine’s parents and Pratt’s ex-wife, Anna Faris.

“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” Pratt posted along with a photo.

Pratt, 39, reportedly asked “The Terminator” Arnold Schwarzenegger for permission to ask his oldest daughter Katherine, 29, to marry him.

Following the proposal, Schwarzenegger tweeted out congratulations to the couple, “Congratulations. I’m so proud of both of you. Welcome to the family!”

Katherine’s mother, journalist and Kennedy family member Maria Shriver, set the couple up last year thinking they would hit it off. Both Pratt and Katherine are devout Christians and active in the Church.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have four children — two girls and two boys — together.

Shriver commented online, “Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful Spiritual people. We are so happy for you are blessed as is everyone who knows you yes let’s go.”

Among those offering public congratulatory messages are Pratt’s ex-wife, actress Anna Faris, who commented on the post, “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!”

Faris, 42, and Pratt were married for nine years before divorcing and have a 6-year-old son, Jack. Pratt’s outspoken faith was reportedly part of the reason the couple grew apart and opted to divorce in 2017.

Faris has spoken publicly about her co-parenting relationship with Pratt since the divorce. Saying on her podcast, Unqualified, “Chris and I work really hard ’cause we have Jack, that is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy. We have sort of the luxury of circumstance. You know, we are both in other loving relationships. But it’s like, how do you not in general sink into a place of bitterness?”

At least she was able to offer congratulations publicly to head off any speculation that there are hard feelings on either side.

Congratulations to the happy couple. One can certainly assume that such a whirlwind courtship will mean wedding bells sooner rather than later.
