Ronda Rousey has become a quick favourite on the Raw roster, conquering the hearts of the WWE Universe. Of course, fans who never watched the UFC before may not be fully familiar with Rousey yet. 1. She Was One of the Most Dominant UFC Fighters in History

Everyone who watched UFC is aware of Ronda’s dominance in the industry. Ronda started her career in the UFC when she retired from judo at age 21. She was the first woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo. She won the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

During the early days of her UFC career, Ronda Rousey shared a studio apartment and worked three jobs to support herself and her dog even after winning an olympic medal!

Rousey made her debut as a mixed martial artist amateur in 2010. She defeated her first opponent, Hayden Munoz, in 23 seconds by means of an armbar. In November 2010, she would submit veteran Autumn Richardson in a whopping 57 seconds.

Ronda made her professional debut in 2011, where she submitted Ediane Gomes in 25 seconds. From then, success followed. She became the first female UFC Champion and got her nickname “Rowdy.”

During her sports career, Ronda has won so many medals and championships, it is impossible to mention them all. From judo, mixed martial arts, and wrestling to the olympics, Ronda’s history is victory studded.

As Ronda tells it, her mother would wake up her in the middle of the night to sharpen her judo techniques. She could only return to bed once she could lock in a submission or escape a submission.

5. Superhero Aspirations

During an interview, Ronda revealed she would love to play a superhero. In fact, she has a preference for Miss Marvel.

The character of Ms. Marvel appeared for the first time in Marvel Super-Heroes #13, released in March 1968. The character would appear periodically in other Marvel comic books over the years; this includes Captain Marvel #18, Ms. Marvel #1, and The Avengers #171.
