What’s Next For Paige? + Brock Lesnar’s WWE Appearance Confirmed

– With the McMahon family ‘listening’ to fans and taking over what happens on TV, there was no need for any General Managers. The decision left SmackDown’s Paige without a role, but PWInsider noted how creative is working on ideas to keep the former wrestler on TV as they the higher-ups were happy with her performance as the General Manager of SmackDown.

There has been talk of Paige working the pre-show panels for pay per views and maybe even the announce team. If so, it would be the first time SmackDown has a permanent female calling the action. Wrestling inside a ring is of the question due to Paige’s bad neck, so do not get your hopes up.

With The Rock’s “Fighting with My Family,” which is about Paige and her family being released in theaters on February 14, WWE wants to keep her on TV to promote the film.

– The Royal Rumble is a little over five weeks away and we now know Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will be present at the final RAW before January’s pay per view. Lesnar has been confirmed for the January 21 episode of RAW from Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Arena as seen down below. As of now, Lesnar is not advertised for any other shows heading into his title match against Braun Strowman.

Lesnar and Strowman are very familiar with each other, having wrestled twice for the Universal Championship. At No Mercy Lesnar was able to retain his title in one of his toughest matches since returning to WWE. They would meet again at Crown Jewel in a squash match; with Lesnar winning the vacant Universal Championship. The second encounter saw Baron Corbin attack Strowman before the bell and then Lesnar needed five F5s to reclaim the title.

It will be interesting how WWE builds the program as Strowman is still not filly recovered following elbow surgery. Come the Royal Rumble, Strowman is expected to be cleared for competition. Lesnar has not appeared on for WWE since Survivor Series, where he got the better of WWE Champion Daniel Bryan in the main event. There is always Paul Heyman, who could do the talking on Lesnar’s behalf to help further the storyline.
