The Elite Bid Farewell To Ring Of Honor Following Final Battle? (Video)

The start of 2019 will be memorable as we several contracts are up for members of The Elite. At last night’s Ring of Honor’s (ROH) Final Battle show, the stable addressed the fans inside New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom after the cameras stopped rolling.

The Young Bucks did all the talking with fellow stable members Cody Rhodes, Adam Page and Mary Scurll joining them in the ring. Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels and Scorpio Sky were also invited into the ring by the group. Some of the big shots that run ROH were also spotted at ringside as they were recording the segment on their phones.

Nick and Matt Jackson each took a few minutes to thank ROH executives, the locker room and fans for their time in the promotion. They said this was not a farewell speech and to keep an eye out for January 1 as they continue to tease a major announcement. The segment ended with everyone in the ring locking arms and posing for the crowd before making their exit. Only The Young Bucks spoke with everyone else soaking in the moment.

There have been lots of rumors regarding The Elite. WWE has shown interest, but the main rumors are another All In event and/or the arrival of a new promotion. It does appear that at least The Young Bucks are done with ROH, but we will know much more in early 2019. While The Elite worked several matches at Final Battle, they lost almost every one and left without gold. This could have been done as a way of putting others over before leaving the promotion; which is frequently done in the pro wrestling business.

No matter what, the beginning of next year looks to start with eyes on several of the biggest names not under contract to WWE.

Here’s a look at what happened after the show ended.
