Hollywood and the mainstream media alike love to pat leftwing entertainers and activists on the back with various types of awards. However, regardless of how much a conservative is helping others, they never seem to make the cut when it comes to honors like TIME’s Person Of The Year.

After Time announced on Monday that they would be giving the Person of the Year title to journalists, who they described as “Guardians” fighting a “War on Truth,” “Everybody Loves Raymond” actress Patricia Heaton took to Twitter to wonder why actor Gary Sinise is never honored for his humanitarian efforts.

Fox News reported that Heaton included a tweet from Sinise in which he announced that his foundation had flown over 1,000 Gold Star children, who had lost parents serving in the military, to Disney World over the weekend. Many fans expressed agreement with Heaton that Sinise, best known for his portrayal of Lt. Dan in “Forrest Gump,” deserves to be honored.

“Gary is the kind of person that doesn’t crave recognition or praise,” one social media user wrote. “He does it because he’s a man of service. I highly admire him for it.”

Others pointed out that Sinise will likely never be honored by Hollywood because of his conservative beliefs.

“I think we all know why. If you are not an outspoken liberal you basically don’t exist in Hollywood it seems,” one user wrote, with another adding, “He is better off without their worthless recognition. The people that matter are the kids and parents on that plane, and those who support and love him for his service. He is already a brighter star than any vain Hollywood celebrity.”

What Sinise has done for Gold Star families is nothing short of incredible, and he deserves all the accolades in the world for it. It’s sad that the liberals of Hollywood and the media are so biased against anyone remotely conservative that they can’t put their feelings aside for a second to honor someone who is selflessly helping veterans in such a huge way.
