Cena's Message To Roman Reigns
John Cena is the WWE’s poster child and go to guy when times are difficult. He’s always there, never gives up and won’t back down from any challenge. Have a face vs. face match at WrestleMania where Roman Reigns wins and Cena passes the role of being a leader to a much younger superstar. Even if Reigns wins, the fans might still be split and give him a mixed reaction. Cena’s been getting a mixed reaction his entire career and it hasn’t stopped him from claiming the world title 15 times.

Roman Reigns shocked the world back on October 22 when he reveled that his leukemia returned and he would be forced to relinquish the Universal Championship. Tons of wrestlers showed their support to Reigns and that includes John Cena, who reached out with a text message.

“I texted him the day of the announcement just letting him know that he is in really good hands,” said Cena to Chris Van Vlie while promoting the movie Bumblebee. “He is part of a very exclusive fraternity. We all love him for what he’s done. We all respect the fact that he is taking care of his health which is first and foremost. I told him if he needs anything he knows where to find me. I know Joe. I know Joe’s a tough S.O.B.”

With Cena taking a less active role on WWE TV in recent years, it allowed the promotion to elevate Reigns as their next big star. The two even met once inside the ring, with Reigns getting the three count at No Mercy 2017 after surviving four Attitude Adjustments.

There is no timeframe for when, or if, Reigns will return inside a WWE ring. He was part of WWE’s Tribute To The Troops show, but it is unknown if that part will air. Last month, Reigns officially started another round of battling leukemia.

– Two competitors from this year’s Mae Young Classic have caught WWE’s attention according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. WWE is now looking to sign Karen Q and Rachael Ellering to contracts, likely for their NXT brand.

Karen Q worked briefly for Impact Wreslting over the summer and joined Ring of Honor back in April. She is set to work ROH’s Final Battle at the end of the month for their Women of Honor Championship.

Ellering is daughter to WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering and also the girlfriend of NXT’s Kassius Ohno. Ellering has worked a few NXT shows and also spent part of 2017 in Impact Wrestling.
