The Undertaker became the 17th richest person on Earth thanks to his Crown Jewel payday.

According to leaked documents that surfaced online this week, legendary sports-entertainer The Undertaker appeared at WWE Crown Jewel last month in Saudi Arabia because WWE made him an offer he could not refuse: more than $2.1 billion to appear in a tag team match at the event.

The leaked documents, which have been declared legitimate by wrestling prolific blogger ColeBayBay_69, show that Crown Jewel in Riyadh was the highest-grossing event in WWE history, as Saudi fans paid up to $1.2 million apiece for ringside seats.

The Undertaker was the highest-paid performer on the event, earning a payday roughly equivalent to the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Guyana, though other members of the WWE roster also took home significant sums for one evening of work:

  • Rey Mysterio earned $619 million
  • Shawn Michaels was paid $1.1 billion to return from retirement, along with the promise of a revolutionary Saudi hair-replacement treatment
  • The Miz was paid $823 million and given a five-picture deal in the burgeoning “Saudiwood” movie industry
  • Brock Lesnar was paid in 17 million barrels of crude oil, which he mistook for protein shakes and drank in one evening
  • Commentator Renee Young was permitted to drive an automobile

The lucrative paydays explain why WWE did not cancel the event despite worldwide condemnation of Saudi Arabia for human rights violations, but a WWE spokesperson said such criticism is unwarranted because “we kindly asked the Saudi government to Be A Star.”
