XFL Cities Announced + Is McMahon Using WWE Resources?

-Former WWE Superstar Joey Mercury has found himself in some legal troubles recently. Not that long ago, he was accused of identity theft. Fortunately for Mercury, he had an alibi-he was working on the other side of the globe at the time of the incident. However, this event triggered a law enforcement investigation. Ultimately, his name was cleared.

This case of mistaken identity wasn’t done causing Joey Mercury some pain, however. He was recently supposed to appear at ALL IN, including an expectation to produce a match. Ringside News reports now that he was detained for another matter. This caused Mercury to miss ALL IN.

Mercury was found sleeping in his car outside of a hotel-one which he had a room in. Because of this, and aided by his prior incidents with law enforcement, he found himself arrested. Due to his arrest, he was unable to make the show as planned. It appears all his legal issues have been resolved, but it is unfortunate that he was not able to appear at the big show.

-The first of eight XFL cities has been revealed. NBC station KDSK has announced that pro football is returning to Saint Louis. The city will have a teamĀ  in Vince McMahon’s XFL reboot. Seven additional team cities are expected to be announced by next week.

The move is another big step in the WWE Chairman’s attempt to yet again kick start a viable second professional football organization. His first attempt, also dubbed the XFL, spectacularly flamed out after a brief existence. In 2017, interest in the short-lived league popped up again due to an ESPN special. Ultimately, the football bug was an itch Vince McMahon couldn’t ignore. The WWE head sold off a large amount of stock in order to provide a large amount of startup capital for XFL 2.0.
