After two unsuccessful tries, Tito Ortiz finally scored a victory over Chuck Liddell, finishing him in the main event of Golden Boy MMA 1 Saturday night.
The event marked the debut for the Oscar de la Hoya promotion in the MMA world, airing live on pay-per-view from The Forum in Los Angeles.
While in the UFC, Liddell topped Ortiz twice, but this time around, the long time off hindered “The Iceman” in the meeting of former UFC champions and hall of famers.
In the co-main event, Deron Winn earned a decision over UFC veteran Tom Lawlor, while Gleison Tibau topped Efrain Escudero.
