WWE Interested In Serena Williams, WWE Women’s Tag Titles Update

– With the WWE’s highly-successful first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view (PPV), Evolution, in the books, it seems the company could be more focused than ever on its women’s division. That being said, they may be looking outside the squared circle when it comes to huge names to bring into the fold.

From the looks of it, the WWE might be focused on snagging tennis sensation Serena Williams. Stephanie McMahon was recently interviewed by The Sun where she stated her interest in seeing Williams in the WWE. Steph commented on Williams saying that ‘I want Serena. She’s Awesome’, during the interview.

Could we be seeing the top tennis player in the WWE? Time will only tell if Williams could transition her star power from the court to the squared circle, but with her athleticism, anything is possible.

– Speaking of Evolution, there were huge rumblings prior to the event around WWE unveiling women’s tag titles at the PPV, and that Stephanie was the one who was slated to make the big announcement; however, this never came to be.

Still, that does not mean that this is not on the horizon. With a slew of female superstars teaming up for tag action on both RAW and SmackDown television these days, all arrows seem to be pointing in that direction.

Further proof that the WWE is leaning towards this is the fact that the company handed out some unique signs to fans in attendance during the Evolution event this past Sunday. One person took to Twitter, to show support around the idea of a WWE first-ever women’s tag team championship, and to show the sign that was handed to them. Tweet below:

Seems like it’s only a matter of time before WWE announces these new titles, but with all the ‘first-ever’ milestones running to a close when it comes to the women’s division, it may be that the company is waiting for that perfect moment before unveiling this last one.
