NXT Signs New Female Superstar, More NXT Talent Rumored For Evolution

-According to a report on Mandatory.com’s Wrestle Zone, the NXT women’s roster has a new signee. Based on a Tweet from a reliable insider, it appears that Chelsea Green has indeed joined the company. As the report goes, Chelsea has already reported to the Performance Center and has begun training.

Green previously worked for IMPACT Wrestling, making a name for herself under the moniker Laurel Von Ness. With the company, she was a former Knockouts champion, so she clearly has a resume and the talent to compete in NXT. No official word from WWE confirming the signing, nor has there been any report of a possible debut for the newest member of the NXT roster.

Wrestleview.com is reporting that the already loaded Evolution card is about to get even more loaded. And this latest round of talent is once again coming from NXT. We already know that NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane will be defending her title against former champ Shayna Baszler. We’ve heard other NXT names expected to be in attendance, including the two former MMA stars who have yet to make their television debuts.

Now, reported on Wrestleview, we are learning of some new names also from NXT who are expected to have a role on the first ever all women’s PPV. Lacey Evans, Mia Yim, NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Kacy Catanzaro are all expected to be in Long Island for this major show. They join the previously discussed NXT talent (Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Jessamyn Duke, Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai and Marina Shafir).

From NXT’s perspective, the women’s locker room will be very well represented. No word yet as to what their roles would be on the PPV. While some Superstars (Duke and Shafir) may be involved in a main card angle to set up a Survivor Series match, most of the rest are likely to take part in a battle royal or similar gimmick match.

John Deegan

Introduced to professional wrestling in the 1980's thanks to Superstars and Saturday Night's Main Event, John's passion for the medium was reborn thanks to ECW in the 90's. A former in-ring "talent" with a career 0-2 record, he finds it more rewarding, and far less painful, to write about wrestling now.
