Theaters Not Wanting to Show Film ‘Gosnell’

The new movie about the abortion doctor monster convicted of murder for killing infants is doing huge business at the box office.

And yet, it appears some theaters are doing everything they can to stop people from seeing it.

“The filmmakers behind ‘Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer’ have questioned why hundreds of theaters have dropped the pro-life movie despite a strong opening performance,” reported The Christian Post on Monday.

These filmmakers claimed that customers trying to see the movie were often given the run-around in every possible way by theater employees, and that it’s happened too often for it to be a mere coincidence.

Gosnell reportedly earned $1,235,000 on just 668 screens last week and by Friday had earned $2,000,000, making it a top 10 box office hit. The movie is a big success by any measure for a movie of its size.

And yet, nearly 200 theaters have dropped the film?

Why?

“I can tell you from my experience in 15 years of releasing movies independently, we’re in uncharted territories,” said the film’s producer John Sullivan to the Daily Wire.

“It is an impacted fall, no doubt about it, but the fact that we’ve been dropped from theaters where the movie is the number 6 or number 9 movie is just something you don’t see,” he added.

“It’s hard not to believe it isn’t about the content of the movie,” Sullivan added.

The producer of “Gosnell,” Phelim McAleer explained some of the challenges his movie has faced on a recent Facebook post:

“People are saying that they are going to the box office and being told that the films isn’t being shown when it is,” McAleer said. “We are being told that people are also not able to buy tickets online. Some theaters are trying to cut this down, trying to exclude people from going to see it.”

Actor Dean Cain has also been outspoken about the bias against his new movie.

It wouldn’t be shocking to learn that liberal Hollywood is behind this apparent tamp down. The Gosnell case is one of the most gruesome in criminal history and naturally urges everyone to confront the issue of abortion in the starkest – and dark – ways imaginable.

Is this what some in the movie industry are afraid of? People actually having to think – instead of just chanting slogans – about this important life and death issue?
