Evolution News: Alexa Bliss Out Due To Injury, Title Match Scratched

– When WWE announced the all-female pay per view Evolution, they stated that women championships from RAW, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK would be defended. Yet, WWE has quietly pulled the NXT UK match.

For weeks, it stated that Rhea Ripley would defend her title against Isla Dawn but that match is no longer listed. There was not reason provided. The match could have been scrapped because Ripley’s title win did not yet air on the WWE Network. WWE taped several months of NXT UK TV throughout the past several weeks and that episode has not aired.

– After some uncertainty, WWE has confirmed that Alexa Bliss will not be competing at Evolution. She was to team with Mickie James against WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus & Lita. Alicia Fox will replace Bliss.

At Hell in a Cell, Bliss suffered an arm injury in her match with Ronda Rousey. She was just cleared to wrestle last week, where she suffered a broken nose or concussion at Saturday’s live event. WWE was under the impression Bliss would be cleared to compete, but that is not happening.

WWE provided the following statement.

“Although James was originally slated to team with Alexa Bliss, The Goddess will not compete due to an injury, and will be replaced by the wily Fox in this blockbuster matchup. The cunning Bliss will still be present in Mickie & Alicia’s corner.”

With all the late changes, down below is the final card for the Evolution pay per view. It takes from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, and is described as a historic night for WWE.
