WWE Planning Two Saudi Events

Crown Jewel, WWE’s next big Saudi Arabia event, appears to be moving forward. In spite of the fan backlash and numerous politicians coming out against WWE holding the event, WWE today confirmed the event’s ticket on sale date of October 19, per PWTorch. With this move, the show appears to be happening as planned, November 2nd from Saudi Arabia.

This is somewhat surprising given the protests from numerous groups and individuals. Also, with WWE recently reluctant to mention anything about the event other than the name and matches (meaning they never said Saudi Arabia on TV),  many were speculating that WWE would either move the event or postpone and move.

While things can still change up until the day of the event, we have to think that if they begin selling tickets for the event, odds are that they intend to hold the event as planned. Keep an eye on Wrestlenewz.com to catch all the latest news about this major WWE event.

-Following a noteworthy and controversial ending to IMPACT’s biggest show of the year-Bound For Glory-on Sunday, there appears to be an update on Austin Aries and his status with the company. According to IMPACT’s Petey Williams, Aries dropped the title in what was his last contractual appearance. If true and with no contract extension in sight, having Aries drop the belt made sense. It does not, however, explain him flipping off the audience.

PWInsider disputes the statement by Williams, however. Their report states that Austin Aries was still under contract, or at least was in IMPACT’s plans after Bound For Glory. Aries was indeed expected to take part in the post-BFG television tapings. Instead, he didn’t show up, leading IMPACT to re-write the shows on the fly without the now former champion.

Also, another top IMPACT star, Sami Callihan has re-signed with the company.
