It wasn’t a flawless performance from Fedor Emelianenko, but “The Last Emperor” took out Chael Sonnen tonight at Bellator 208 to advance to the finals of the heavyweight grand-prix.

Right out of the gate, Fedor sent Sonnen to the deck with a big shot. The latter returned to his feet, but moments later, Emelianenko tagged him again. Sonnen kept pressuring and moving forward, however, and a couple of scrambles on the ground ensued.

Not long after Sonnen failed to sweep the Russian star, Fedor pounded away with strikes from the top, and the fight was stopped. Emelianenko will face light-heavyweight champ Ryan Bader in the tourney finals.
