After the Roman Reigns experiment and an underwhelming championship reign thanks to Brock Lesnar, Monday Night Raw is in dire need of a serious star. Even though the likes of Seth Rollins and Finn Balor have kept things somehow afloat, an unlikely return to the WWE has caused the rise of a new Star!
Drew McIntyre may not have had loads of luck during his first run in the WWE, his return has been extremely successful. He has reinvented himself and boy does he look menacing when he comes down to the ring.
Many people have noticed the change in McIntyre, including myself, since I bought myself a McIntyre shirt a couple of weeks ago. Just beating the price increase, because McIntyre will go far. Of course, it does come down to Vince and what he wants. If I had my say, I would give Lesnar the proverbial boot and put McIntyre at the top of my roster.
Even though this is based on rumors, it does appear that Vince likes McIntyre. Of course, McIntyre does meet the normal requirements for McMahon. Towering above us regular humans at 6 foot 5 inches and weighing in at 265 pounds of sheer muscle, Drew certainly meets Vince’s normal standards.
Vince McMahon is not the only one who is taking a serious interest in McIntyre though, because Triple H appears to be a fan too. Both parties have shown interest in giving McIntyre an even bigger push, one that could possibly surpass that of Roman Reigns or Braun Strowman.
One of the biggest problems plaguing Monday Night Raw is a lack of heels. Unfortunately, heels are often the most popular too, especially in the PG era.
Heel McIntyre’s arrival could not have come at a better time. However, I don’t understand why the WWE turned Strowman heel. With his impressive size, it could be easy for him to overshadow McIntyre in this new faction. Still, McIntyre has held his own and sometimes even overshadows Strowman.
McIntyre is holding his own in Monday Night Raw’s world of big men and veteran appearances. I have no doubt that this has impressed both Vince McMahon and Triple H, although they may not have needed a lot of convincing.
The value of Drew McIntyre as a potential wrestling legend is clear for everyone to see, but the WWE must handle things right. Let him run with the character he has at the moment and do not put the proverbial WWE foot in.
Countless reports claim a serious push for Drew McIntyre is in the works; this was reported by Forbes among others. I am secretly hoping for a singles run for Drew McIntyre, preferably going after the WWE Universal Championship or the Intercontinental Championship. Beats having to look at Lesnar again!
