American Alpha may have disappeared, but it does not take away from the skill of Chad Gable. Currently, on the main roster, Chad Gable should have a good WWE future ahead. Of course, we do not know a lot yet about this WWE superstar, so be sure to read the facts below if you want to know more!

1. He Is a Former Olympian

Many people believe that Kurt Angle is the only WWE wrestler who has a history in the Olympics, which is not strange considering he built his career on that fact. However, Kurt is not the only one with Olympic history, because Chad Gable also belongs to this exclusive club. Gable competed at the 2012 Olympics representing America in the Greco-Roman wrestling event.

Chad Gable also competed in the 2012 Pan-American Games as a wrestler for the United States team. He ended up being first in his respective weight class.

2. His Wrestling Name Has Quite the Meaning

Getting a wrestling name is quite the creative process, but for some wrestlers, their wrestling name has a special meaning. This is the case for Chad Gable, who got his name from wrestling legend Dan Gable.

Dan Gable was a professional wrestler who won a gold medal in the 1972 Olympic Games. However, he was more than just a champion, because Dan Gable won his medal without giving a single point to his opponents!

3. He Started in the WWE with Little Experience

Chad Gable may have been a wrestler who participated in the Olympics; he had little experience in sports entertainment when he started in NXT. While Gable looks smooth in the ring, he did not begin training for the sports entertainment industry until November 2013.

4. He Got the Rookie of the Year Award

Chad Gable may have started in the WWE without any indie experience; he impressed WWE management and the WWE universe quickly. While doing his stint in NXT in 2015, Chad Gable received the prestigious award of Wrestling Observer Rookie of the Year Award.

When you receive a reward from the Wrestling Observer, you know you are doing something right. Being rookie of the year certainly made the WWE take notice, especially since he beat the runner-up with a whopping 1000 votes. Impressive!

 5. He’s Often Compared to Kurt Angle

You have to wonder why on God’s green earth did the WWE choose Jason Jordan as Kurt Angle’s long lost son. When you think about it, there is only one person that could be compared to Angle, and that is Chad Gable.

Both Olympians and starting with a similar American ring attire, Chad Gable would have been the perfect pick for Kurt’s lost son. Unfortunately, the WWE chose Jason Jordan instead, but with little success.

Kurt Angle himself has shown some interest in Chad Gable as well. He has praised both Jordan and Gable in the past and even wanted them to fight under the Team Angle banner. He also wanted to be their manager, but the WWE seems to have ignored this brilliant idea. Why? Ugh.
