Daniel Cormier

Brock Lesnar appeared at UFC 226 and his next move played out before our very eyes. In the main event, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier knocked out Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic in the opening round to become a double champion. That was just the start of the excitement.

During the post-fight interview in the Octagon, Cormier invited Lesnar (who was cageside and wearing a suit) to come inside. Things then quickly escalated as Lesnar marched towards Cormier and pushed the new double champion; some good old trash talking began in a segment that could have been scripted or a shoot. We will let the fans decide that one.

“There’s a guy that I’ve known for a long time,” said Cormier after his huge UFC 226 title win. “He’s a wrestler; he’s an All-American, he’s a former UFC champion. I never thought I would fight him, but Brock Lesnar get your a– in here.”

After the shove by Lesnar, Daniel stated “Yeah, you’re strong. But everybody’s strong. Push me now, you go to sleep later.”

Lesnar than got a turn to talk, putting down Cormier, Miocic and former title contender Francis Ngannou.

“Let me tell you something, I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning,” said Lesnar. “Ngannou is a piece of s—. Miocic is a piece of s—. ‘DC,’ I’m coming for you motherf—er!”

Later in the night at the post-fight press conference, Dana White confirmed that Lesnar had re-entered the USADA testing pool. Lesnar will have to finish his suspension, which means there is about 6 months before he can fight again.

On their website, WWE acknowledged that Lesnar vs. Cormier is going to happen under the UFC umbrella. No word on the status of the Universal Championship or when Lesnar-Cormier will take place.
