Vince McMahon To Spend $500 Million On XFL Relaunch

Relaunching the XFL was not going to be cheap and we’re starting to see how much Vince McMahon is investing. ESPN reports that McMahon will spend around $500 million during the first three years.

In December 2017, McMahon sold $100 million of WWE stock to help relaunch his version of football for 2020. Back then, McMahon stated that more money would be needed.

Two expenses that will cost the XFL are salaries for the players and coach and the insurance will be high. Each player will make $75,000, which is more than they made the first time around; but, far less than what someone in the NFL makes.

The first time McMahon tried the XFL, there was lots of buzz but it ended after the inaugural season. A major issue was how most of the decisions about the league were made in the final months leading up to the first game. This time around, McMahon is taking a slower pace and also noted how there will not be any references to pro wrestling.
