Hollywood star John Schneider, best known for his role as Bo Duke on the “Dukes of Hazzard“, opened up about what going to jail was like and about the bias against conservatives in Hollywood.

In 2018, Schneider served five hours of a three-day jail sentence for unpaid alimony.

Here is Schneider pictured with his ex-wife, Elvira “Elly” Castle. Together they raised three children, two from Castle’s previous marriage. In 2014, Castle filed for divorce after 21 years of marriage.

‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ Star John Schneider Goes To Jail

The “Smallville” star represented himself in court, claiming he had fallen on hard times financially and could no longer afford alimony.

Schneider lamented how he’d personally worked “for everything I have and had and lost and continue to do so.”

“It’s common sense versus entitlement. I’ve worked seven days a week, 80 hours a week, at least since 1978,” he said as he prepared to turn himself in. “I have, as every working person has, a mountain of debt that was attached to my dream. And there’s a group now that somehow feels they’re entitled to life or even luxury without work and the judicial system apparently agrees with that.”

Ultimately he opted to serve jail time for the unpaid alimony, but was released after a few hours.

Upon his release, Schneider shared what it was like to go to jail. He also said that he believes anti-conservative bias played a part in him being sentenced to jail in the first place.

“Going to jail was nothing like I ever imagined it was going to be,” Schneider told Fox News. “First of all, I was given no preferential treatment at all except they didn’t detain me with the general population. I was arrested, I was searched, I was handcuffed, I had my wallet and my phone and they took my belt and shoelaces and it was put into a plastic bag. It was totally life-changing.”

Bias Against Conservatives In Hollywood

John Schneider went on to say that he thinks his conservative values were used against him in the Los Angeles court system and called on his fellow rightwing stars to “come out of the Republican closet.”

“I do think there’s a bias against conservatives, Republicans, in Hollywood, but I think if you let that alter how you are, then I question how you are,” he said. “If you believe it, speak it, live it.”

The bias against conservatives in Hollywood is very real, and it has been seen by millions of people all over the globe.

As Hollywood elitists continue to spread their anti-Trump hysteria, all they are really showing is how out of touch they have become with real, working Americans who are just trying to put food on the table.

Trump has shown that unlike Barack Obama, he cares more about helping working Americans than he does about making friends in Hollywood, which continues to infuriate entertainers there on a daily basis.

Schneider also talked about how important it is to support the president.

“I supported the last president [even though] I didn’t vote for him, but I supported him because I believe that’s my duty as a United States citizen,” he said. “The difference here is that I did vote [for Trump] and I don’t mind people knowing that.”

We’re big fans of John Schneider and can’t agree more. It’s definitely time for more Hollywood stars to “come out” as Republicans!
