agt winner dead neal boyd

Fans are in mourning today after it was revealed that “America’s Got Talent” winner Neal E. Boyd passed away. He was only 42 years old.

Daily Mail reported that Boyd was found unresponsive in his mother’s Sikeston, Missouri home after suffering several complications related to his weight including heart and kidney failure. At the time of his death, both Boyd and his mother were still recovering from a car accident in 2017, when he had passed out while driving. Boyd said back in February that he was unable to use his legs following the crash.

“It was a very, very, very bad wreck … It’s a very slow progress. I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me almost unable to use that leg for now,” he said to the Southeast Missourian. “It’s been difficult because you can’t get up on stage right now, you can’t perform for the audiences and you can’t really do too much recording or traveling.”

A trained opera singer, Boyd won season three of “America’s Got Talent,” taking home the $1-million prize and a headline show in Las Vegas hosted by Jerry Springer. After winning the show, Boyd recorded the album My American Dream in 2009 and performed at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Florida.

Boyd also tried his hand at politics, and he unsuccessfully ran for the Republican Missouri seat in the House of Representatives in the 2012 general election and the 2014 primaries.

Tributes have been pouring in for Boyd on Twitter, where “America’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan led the tributes to him.

“Very sad to hear that Neal Boyd, Season 3 winner of ⁦⁩, has died at 42 from heart failure. Lovely guy with a wonderful voice. RIP,” Morgan wrote.

Rest in peace, Neal Boyd! You will be dearly missed!
