Meghan McCain Defies Liberal Cohosts Of ‘The View’ To Slam NFL Anthem Kneelers

As the only conservative on the panel of the ABC talk show “The View,” Meghan McCain often finds herself at odds with her liberal cohosts. She was in this position once again on Thursday when the women were discussing the NFL’s new policy that requires players to stand for the national anthem.

McCain’s liberal cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar were furious that the NFL is telling players that they have to either stand for the national anthem or stay in the locker room. The Daily Caller reported that McCain went against her fellow cohosts by saying that the players should indeed be made to stand for the anthem.

“I completely disagree with everyone on this table,” McCain said. “I would never be OK with somebody not saluting the flag. Seventy-two percent of Americans, according to Reuters, said that they thought [Colin] Kaepernick’s behavior was unpatriotic, unpatriotic.”

Cohost Sunny Hostin rudely interrupted McCain at this point, but the conservative refused to be silenced.

“Can I please finish what I’m saying? I’m still talking. I’m still talking. I’m still speaking,” she said.

Goldberg sent the show to a commercial break, but when they returned, McCain continued by saying that the NFL’s new policy is a business decision and had nothing to do with taking away players’ freedom.

“Listen, I disagree, and I know it’s unpopular in this room. I get it that’s why we do this job,” McCain explained. “Fifty-three percent of Americans, according to a Washington Post poll published yesterday, said it’s never appropriate to kneel. I have a flag in my dressing room. I have many in my home. It is what we drape the coffins of soldiers’ bodies when they come back from war. It’s a very obviously deeply intensely emotional issue. Couldn’t disagree with everyone more.”

Goldberg jumped in to say that the NFL’s policy is something that would happen under a dictatorship, but McCain quickly shut this ridiculous argument down.

“Does it make a difference if it’s a corporation?” McCain asked. “We work for ABC so I couldn’t come on here with a shirt that says the ‘F’ word. … Does it make a difference to you that money and corporations are involved?”

We’re glad to see that McCain is not letting her ignorant cohosts shut her down anymore. She is with the majority of Americans who are sick of seeing millionaire NFL players disrespect the flag that members of the U.S. military have fought and died for.
