DWTS Christian Contestant Refuses To Dance To Risque Song – It Pays Off!

Former pro softball player and Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch-Daigle recently made it to the semi-finals of the 26th season of “Dancing With the Stars,” and she did it while standing firm in her Christian values.

While preparing to perform the Cha-Cha with her partner, Keo Motsepe, Finch-Daigle requested a last-minute change of plans when she told producers that the song choice for the dance, “Make Me Feel” by Janelle Monae, conflicted with her beliefs.

“I’m struggling with my song choice,” Finch-Daigle said during a practice session with Motsepe. “It’s a little too risque. I’m just not feeling comfortable with it.”

Indeed, Monae’s “Make Me Feel” is being hailed as a “bisexual anthem” by the liberal media, and features sexually suggestive lyrics. As both a Christian and role model to young girls, Finch-Daigle ultimately decided that she couldn’t go through with the dance. “I need to follow who I am and stand up for what I believe,” she said.

Finch-Daigle later elaborated further on why she put her foot down:

“Just as a mom, it’s not something we listen to in our house,” the olympian told reporters on Monday, May 7. “And my fans, my audience, is young girls. I don’t know of anything more empowering than a man sticking by a woman, and following her gut and her heart, not feeling comfortable, and I wouldn’t be able to stand on that stage — I have a 5-year-old daughter — and be proud of what we’re doing in the song choice that we had.”

[…]

“I want to glorify God out there, and that just wasn’t a great choice for me to do that.”

With little time to spare, the song was changed to “Do It Like This” by Daphne Willis, and Motsepe re-choreographed the entire dance. The extra effort paid off: they were voted through to the semi-finals.

Unfortunately, the pair were voted off the following week – but Finch-Daigle has no regrets. She recently shared a post on Instagram thanking God for her “adventure” on DWTS.

“The Lord had this thrill of a ride adventure all planned out,” she wrote. “Stay true to you and your beliefs. God will provide, He is faithful-always.”

Too often these days people fail to stand up for their Christian beliefs because they’re fearful of judgment. But Finch-Daigle boldly and unabashedly proclaimed her love for God and refused to compromise her beliefs. Kudos to her. Hopefully more people – particularly celebrities – will follow her example.

Share this if you’re touched by Jennie Finch-Daigle’s display of faith!
