In a statement released through his Twitter account, former WWE star and Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore announced that there will not be sexual assault and rape charges filed against him.
To be sure, this does not mean that Amore did not act unethically that night. It just means that there was not sufficient evidence to charge him, as is often the case in sexual assault incidents when “he said/ she said” is the only real evidence.
I’m not going to dig into the motivations or the reasoning beyond the accuser. That isn’t our place. Enzo Amore surely got himself into bad situations with bad people. He did himself no favors with his backstage antics. None of that justifies being falsely accused of such a heinous crime. What it does do, however, is make Twitter Jury rule on your fate with haste. This almost always happens without all the facts.
I don’t know what is next for Enzo. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was on Impact or overseas sometime soon. Or maybe he’ll get to pursue his dream to be a rapper?
