“Will & Grace” star Debra Messing often goes on unhinged social media rants against Donald Trump, and in her latest diatribe, she proclaimed that his entire administration “are all going to hell.”

Messing’s rage was directed at Trump’s National Park Service rule changes, which aim to make sport hunting regulations more consistent across Alaska. However, Messing saw one tweet from NBC suggesting that Trump wants to allow hunters to lure bears with “bacon and doughnuts” and “shoot mother black bears and cubs hibernating in dens,” and she lost it.

“This is so DISGUSTING. THIS is where you are putting your time and energy???” Messing tweeted. “Killing sleeping bear cubs? What about health care? Gun violence Ag POC by cops? Women’s rights? KEEPING OUR ELECTIONS SAFE? Good G/d you are all going to hell.”

Before condemning the Trump administration to eternal damnation in hellfire and brimstone, Messing should have done some research. With the proposed rule change, Trump’s intention is simply to roll back Obama administration hunting regulations that were put in place against the will of Alaska’s own regulators. It should go without saying that, in Alaska, the control of predator populations is a legitimate public safety concern, making hunting both a popular hobby and a functional necessity. However, more than half of Alaskan land is owned by the federal government, and – thanks to Obama – both hunting and harvest regulations are currently inconsistent and confusing across state and federal land. National Park Service officials explained how the proposed rule change would be beneficial:

“The purpose of this proposed rule is to align sport hunting regulations in national preserves in Alaska with State of Alaska regulations and to enhance consistency with harvest regulations on surrounding non-federal lands and waters,” National Park Service officials explained in a statement. “The proposed rule would apply the State of Alaska’s hunting regulations to national preserve lands, with limited exceptions.”

In other words, Trump just wants to restore control of hunting regulations to the state of Alaska.

Furthermore, while the regulations in question do affect the use of bait, the mention of “bacon and doughnuts” is, in fact, an Obama-ism – Alaska’s rules make no mention of them. Additionally, Alaska already allows the killing of bear cubs – who, without their mothers, stand little chance of survival – in certain exceptional circumstances.

Bottom line: the liberal media spun this news to fit its anti-Trump agenda, and Messing took the bait hook, line, and sinker.
