Despite getting floored, Vasiliy Lomachenko still came out on top inside Madison Square Garden Saturday night, stopping Jorge Linares.

With the win, the two-time Olympic gold medalist became a three-division champion. The card aired live on ESPN+ in front of over 10,000 fans.

Lomachenko improved to 11-1, having finished nine of his 11 opponents. He became the fastest boxer to win titles in three divisions.

“Linares is a great champion and the fight was good for the fans and everybody,” he said. “It was a great fight.”

The loss was the first for Linares since 2012, as he fell to 44-4 overall.

“The fight was getting interesting,” Linares said. “It was very close, but he did surprise me with that body shot. I wanted to continue. I wanted to keep working, but the ref stopped the fight.”
