Booker T’s Best Commentary Moments!

Some fans take WWE’s commentary for granted. I’ve heard many a person complain that they mute the TV, so they don’t have to hear Michael Cole talk about unrelated things during every match. And while that can certainly get irritating, I’d never mute my TV. For every separate topic, there are just as many head-scratching, laugh-out-loud moments.

Case in point, here are five of Booker T’s best commentary moments.

“You Know I Had A Dream You Died?”

Booker T might very well be the king of making comments out of context, and no comment has ever been more out of context than the time Booker told Michael Cole that he’d had a dream Cole died. Seriously, what was going through his head at the time to make him say this to his coworker? Whatever it was, it made for a memorable moment.

“Salt And Cracked Black Pepa”

Back before the Women’s Revolution, WWE’s women were often thrown into hodgepodge tag teams to give as many of them as much TV time as possible (which wasn’t very much). Case in point, on an episode of SmackDown Divas Champion Kelly Kelly teamed with A.J. Lee to take on Natalya and Alicia Fox. Booker T noted that Natalya and Beth Phoenix referred to themselves as the “Divas of Doom” – and then asked if he should refer to Nattie and Fox as “Salt and Cracked Black Pepa.”

“I Had To Go To The Bathroom”

In the fall of 2011, WWE’s roster was none too happy with Chief Operating Officer Triple H. You see, The Miz and R-Truth, who were (storyline) unemployed at the time, had been terrorizing the entire roster. Triple H had failed to do anything about it. Following a near-unanimous vote of “no confidence” in the COO, the roster staged a walkout on Raw in protest. Among those who walked out was commentator Booker T. However, when Michael Cole – who also walked out – asked Book about it the next night on SmackDown, he explained that he just “had to go to the bathroom.”

His Response To Jerry “The King” Lawler’s Unfortunate Medical Condition

Also in the fall of 2011, former WWE commentator and Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler fell victim to an attack by Mark Henry, wherein Henry body slammed Lawler through the announce table. Later in the show, Michael Cole provided an update on Lawler’s condition – and Booker T’s response was all of our response.

“Batista Is Down!”

During his reign as King of the Ring, King Booker was the gift that kept on giving. This was never more evident than during his brilliant commentary work after Bobby Lashley, and Finlay slammed Batista through the announce table. King Booker screamed “BATISTA IS DOWN” no less than seven times, all while standing right over The Animal.

These are just five examples of some of Booker T’s strangest, most hilarious commentary moments, but there are many, many more. What are some of your favorite pieces of Booker T commentary? Share them in the comments below!
