Steve Martin Walked Out As King Tut Then Henry Winkler Showed Up!

All the way back in 1978, Steve Martin showed off his comedic genius on Saturday Night Live (SNL) with his parody song, “King Tut.”

Martin made fun of the commercialization and popularity of the King Tut exhibit with lines like, “Now, if I’d known they’d line up just to see you, I’d trade in all my money and bought me a museum.”

He didn’t stop there, “Born in Arizona, moved to Babylonia, he was born in Arizona, lived in a condo made of stone-ia, King Tut.”

The skit was hilarious then and it’s still got me laughing today.

Not only did Steve Martin perform the hilarious act on SNL, but he also took it on his stand-up comedy tour in 1979. While there, he even got a little help from Henry Winkler, who carries around a giant diorama of the Egyptian pyramids.

Watch. I dare you not to laugh. I know I couldn’t stop!
