This is the first time since I started watching the WWE that I will be watching a pay-per-view match on a Friday. Still, it could be a great event. Curious what we can expect? Be sure to read on and discover the great moments we will experience at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns (Steel Cage Match for the WWE Universal Championship)

Sandra: While I did not enjoy the WrestleMania 34 match between the pair due to Lesnar’s sloppiness and lack of inspired wrestling, I am looking forward to Roman taking that title away from the Beast. If it does not happen at the Greatest Royal Rumble, when will it happen?

Yes, the concept of a part-time wrestler is not new, but let us face reality. Lesnar’s matches have been below standard. He would not even get into NXT with the performance he has been putting on. So, why are we stuck with this champion?

Katie: Well, WrestleMania sure didn’t go how anyone expected, did it? But I’m not giving up hope that Lesnar will drop the Universal Championship, even if he has signed a new deal. WWE needs to give the Universal Title some actual airtime if they want fans to believe in its legitimacy, and the only way to do that is to put it on literally anyone other than Brock. So I’m predicting a win for Roman.

AJ Styles Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE Championship Match)

Sandra: This will be an amazing match. Not only does it contain two top performers, it also includes Shinsuke Nakamura turned heel. Nakamura has been one of the best heels I’ve seen for a long time and boy does he make me laugh. Of course, I still love Styles, who elevated that title like no other. So, no matter who wins this match, I cannot wait to see the match itself.

Katie: I am so here for Evil Shinsuke Nakamura and his constant barrage of ridiculous low-blows. Much like Reigns, most fans expected Nakamura to leave New Orleans as champion, but WWE has handled this storyline perfectly. As much as I love AJ Styles, now is the time to crown Nakamura.

Seth Rollins vs. The Miz vs. Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe (Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match)

Sandra: Seth Rollins is getting a tough one for his first pay-per-view title defense. He is facing not one opponent, but three in a ladder match! However, there might be some spoilers for this match, as the Miz vs. Seth Rollins is advertised for Backlash. While it is by no means a guarantee, the outcome of this match might be revealed already.

Katie: With the Universal Championship largely absent from TV, in my humble opinion the Intercontinental Championship is the top title on Raw – and I wouldn’t be surprised if many fans agree with me. And as Sandra pointed out, because The Miz and Seth Rollins are scheduled to square off for the title at Backlash, it’s a good indicator that Rollins will retain.

John Cena vs. Triple H

Sandra: Even though this is one of the matches with little to no backstory, it will still be one to watch. How could it not be? The Game versus Super Cena. What’s not to love?

Katie: I’m sure this will be a great match, and I’m also sure that John Cena will win. How couldn’t he? The poor man’s been beaten down both in the storyline and in real life. WWE should throw him a bone and give him a win at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

The Undertaker vs. Rusev (Casket Match)

Sandra: Well, this one is interesting to say the least. First, Rusev was announced to take on the Undertaker. Then, he was replaced by Chris Jericho in advertising, only to switch back a couple of days later. Either way, I am still looking forward to the match.

Katie: I so want Rusev to win this match, because – sue me – I’ve never been a fan of The Undertaker. I’m still mad that WWE didn’t do what made the most sense and have him return to WrestleMania as the American Bad Ass (a.k.a. his only character that I am a fan of). But there’s no way The Undertaker is losing a casket match in a random match-up like this.

Jeff Hardy vs. Jinder Mahal (United States Championship)

Sandra: Jinder Mahal has improved tremendously over the past couple of months. Throw Jeff Hardy into the mix and you get a match to look forward to.

Katie: Please, WWE – PLEASE, in the name of all that is holy, DO NOT put the U.S. Championship back on Jinder Mahal.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The Usos (SmackDown Tag Team Championship)

Sandra: I need some time for the Bludgeon Brothers to grow on m, to be honest. Still, it could be a good match. However, I do not want a squash match like the one that happened at WrestleMania 34. So, let us hope we get a match with a bit more length and substance.

Katie: Luke Harper is the only good thing about the Bludgeon Brothers, and it’s frustrating that WWE keeps tying him down to other people. Nevertheless, they’ve looked very dominant and it would be silly to take the titles off them already.

The Bar vs the Deleter of Worlds (Raw Tag Team Championship)

Sandra: This match should be amazing. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt have been incredibly entertaining. I also believe Hardy and Wyatt might become the new champions, and I am totally okay with that. They need a bigger platform at the moment, so what better way than with the championship belts?

Katie: This is going to be a WONDERFUL match, but it seems like a foregone conclusion that Hardy and Wyatt will win. The Bar are on SmackDown now – why in the world would WWE move them over only to have them win the Raw Tag Team Championship and go back?

The Cruiserweight Match

Sandra: The Cruiserweight Championship will be defended at the Greatest Royal Rumble, but the opponent of Cedric Alexander must be announced still. Considering the brilliant match Cedric and Mustafa put on at WrestleMania 34, I cannot wait.

Katie: Since Sandra input her prediction iitbeen announced that Kalisto will be Cedric’s opponent, which in my opinion all but confirms that he’ll retain.

The Greatest Royal Rumble

Sandra: There are bound to be some surprises during the greatest Royal Rumble match. Some favorites have been announced for the match; this includes Kurt Angle, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Big Show, Braun Strowman, and many others.

Rey Mysterio will show up during the match, making this match my favorite match of the night!

Katie: I’m nervous about this match. The Royal Rumble is my favorite event of the year – I look forward to it even more than WrestleMania – but I think a 50-man match is going to feel exhaustive. But anyhow, I think Braun Strowman will win.
