Peyton Royce, Billie Kay Pass Down NXT Lockers To Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai

It might be every woman for herself inside the squared circle, but backstage, WWE’s women are a sisterhood. They look out for each other from the very beginnings of their WWE careers, and NXT wrestlers Candice LeRae and Dakota Kai were recently initiated into the sisterhood in an exceptional way. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, collectively known as the Iconic Duo (Now the IIconics), made their main roster debut on the SmackDown after WrestleMania. On Thursday, they cleaned out their lockers at the WWE Performance Center and passed them down to LeRae and Kai.

Royce passed down her locker to LeRae, which was previously passed down to her by Bayley. She tweeted a picture of the empty locker, expressing what it meant for her to pass it down to LeRae.

LeRae also tweeted about the locker. “Seeing those two names there every day will only inspire me more and more,” she wrote.

Kay passed down her locker to New Zealander Dakota Kai, which was passed down to her by Charlotte. She tweeted, “May it give you as much luck as it gave me when it was passed down…”

Kai didn’t tweet herself about the locker – but she did retweet Charlotte’s response to Kay, who made sure to allude to retribution for the Iconic Duo, who debuted by attacking Charlotte and causing her to lose the SmackDown Women’s Championship to an opportunistic cash-in by Carmella.

As for Bayley, her response to Royce and LeRae was much more fluffy.

It’s neat to see stuff like this. Pro wrestling is an industry steeped in tradition and brother/sisterhood, and even though their secrets have been exposed in the internet age, they remain a very insular clan. Congrats to the IICONICS for moving up to the main roster, and congrats to LeRae and Kai for being inducted into two very “iconic” lineages.
