Many fans, including myself, were surprised to see the US Title moved to Raw. However, the move was short-lived, as the WWE promptly shifted the title – and Jeff Hardy along with it – back to SmackDown Live.

Problems with the United States Championship on SmackDown

It is no secret that there has been a serious lack of competition for the United States Championship on SmackDown Live. There were several title matches with little surprises in between. Even though the matches featured outstanding athletes, the matches failed to rope in the crowd.

The arrival of Bobby Roode gave the United States Championship a little reprieve, even though most fans would have loved to see Bobby Roode with the title a little longer. Still, after the Fatal Fourway at WrestleMania, there were no fresh competitors left for the WWE United States Championship on Smackdown.

The Infusion of New Talent and the Impact on United States Championship Matches

There has been quite the infusion of talent to SmackDown Live thanks to the latest Superstar Shakeup. This means more competition for the United States Championship. The move of the championship belt brought Jeff Hardy to the blue brand, who will be a big draw for fans.

There is more talent wanting an opportunity at the United States Championship belt in the future. Big Cass, Andrade Cien Almas, Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, and even some members of Sanity all could be looking for the belt. Future title defense matchups look bright if Jeff Hardy retains the title.

What I Think About Moving the Title Back?

I was surprised to see the belt move back to SmackDown Live so shortly after it was introduced on Raw. Of course, the arrival of Jeff Hardy could mean great things for the SmackDown brand, which puts things back into perspective.

At first, I was wondering who was left to go for the United States Championship, other than the usual suspects like Randy Orton. However, major talent has been moved to SmackDown. This could mean a lot of interesting matches in the future. Who knows, we might even see Daniel Bryan versus Jeff Hardy at one point. How can we not like that?
