Apply For Jobs Between 6 am and 10 am

Studies have shown that job applications between 6 am and 10 am are usually most successful. Research has shown that people who apply for a new job are fives times more likely to get an interview before 10 am, but the reality is that most people apply much later in the day.  During this time period, you have an 13% chance of getting an interview — nearly 5x as if you applied to the same job after work.  The single-worst time to apply for a job is after work

To give a clearer picture of how much chance you have on getting a job interview, let us put the latest data in numbers. People who apply between 6 am and 10 pm are 13% more likely to get that interview. However, there is more data to take into consideration.

When 10 am has passed, the chances of getting that interview fall by 10% every 30 minutes. However, just before lunchtime, your chances increase to 11%, but then drop dramatically again.

The Worst Time to Apply for an Interview

Research executed by TalentWorks did not only show what the best time is to apply for an interview, it also showed what the worst time is for an interview.

Based on the report by TalentWorks,  the worst time to apply for an interview is after 7.30 pm. Based on the data, applying after this time leaves you with only 3% of getting an interview. So, when it comes to getting that new job, be sure to apply between 6 am and 10 am.

With online work being on the rise, do not forget to take timezone into consideration. For example, if you live on the east coast, but apply for a job in the mid-west, you must take the time difference into consideration.
