Former First Lady Barbara Bush is set to be laid to rest on Saturday after passing away on Tuesday night at the age of 92. Now, the location of Barbara’s final resting place has been revealed.

Western Journalism reported that Barbara will be buried next to her daughter Robin, who passed away in 1953 at the age of 3 from leukemia.

Barbara called the doctor just after Robin turned 3 when she noticed her child’s energy start to drain. After examining Robin, the doctor gave the Bush family the difficult news that their daughter was terminally ill with leukemia.

“My advice is to take her home, love her. In about two weeks, she’ll be gone,” Barbara remembered the doctor telling her.

Barbara and George H.W. Bush decided that they were going to do whatever they could to save their daughter’s life, so they got her the best treatment available at the time. Robin underwent painful bone marrow tests, blood transfusions, and chemotherapy, but she passed away seven months later just before she turned 4.

“I was combing her hair and holding her hand. I saw that little body, I saw her spirit go,” Barbara recalled.

After Robin’s death, the Bushes allowed doctors to use her body for research.

“It made [George] and me feel that something good is coming out of this precious little life. And today, almost nobody dies of leukemia,” Barbara said.

Though this loss was incredibly difficult, Barbara stopped grieving for Robin a long time ago, instead choosing to focus on the fact that her daughter was a “joy” and “an angel.”

“Because of Robin, George and I love every living human more,” she said.

We’re so glad to know that Barbara will be laid to rest next to her beloved daughter and that the two of them are together again now in Heaven!
