Priscilla Presley Reveals Chilling Details of Elvis’ Final Days

Elvis Presley still has a devoted fan base over four decades after his untimely death. The King of Rock and Roll still captivates millions of people around the world. But, much of his story isn’t known to the public

The King’s talented wife Priscilla is helping change that with an upcoming documentary that she calls “the real deal.” Fans will be able to watch clips from never before seen home movies and interviews that will help define who Elvis Presley actually was. “The Searcher” premieres on HBO on April 14.

It appears nothing is off the table. Priscilla even discusses Elvis’ addiction to prescription drugs. This addiction was a factor in the King’s death in 1977. Even the days leading up to his death are tackled in this documentary.

“It was difficult for all of us. We certainly didn’t see it coming,” Priscilla said. “But we certainly saw the journey he was taking.”

Priscilla states in “The Searcher” that Elvis began taking pills while he stationed in Germany during his service in the Army.

“They gave them to the soldiers over there to keep them awake,” she said. “He was on guard at that time. He had maneuvers that he had to do late at night, so the pills were given to the guys, and that’s how he started. And if you take a sleeping pill, you have to do something to get yourself awake … He was in unchartered territory, he truly was, and he did this and tried to do this alone.”

A trailer for “The Searcher” can be viewed below.

This documentary appears to have a no holds barred approach. They wanted to present Elvis Presley in a personal way that helps explain how his music came to be what we all know and love. The interviews aren’t done on camera. Rather, while people talk about their time with Elvis, you can watch scenes from Graceland, home movies or pictures of the King.

A behind the look scenes look at this documentary is below!

“The Searcher” is intended to be an intimate look into the life of Elvis. Even lifelong fans tuning in on April 14 can learn something they didn’t know about The King.
