Cop Does Something Extraordinary For Grieving Woman He Pulled Over

The liberal media loves to vilify the police. But the boys in blue took an oath to protect and serve, and one sheriff’s deputy went above and beyond to console a grieving woman who had recently lost her father to Alzheimer’s.

“Last week I was pulled over for going 65 in a 55,” Gina Headen wrote on Facebook. However, after she gave the officer her license and registration, he opted not to give her a ticket. “The officer returned to my car and said its your lucky day, we were born on the same day and year, slow down and have a good day. I smiled and said thank you,” Headen wrote.

But that was not the end of Headen’s exchange with the officer. She continued, “He walked away and I broke down and started crying. Thinking he was back in his car. He surprised me and tapped on my window asking if I was ok. I told him I was sad, I just lost my dad. He said take a minute and breath [sic]. He talked to me a minute then helped me back into traffic.”

Little did Headen know, that wouldn’t be the last she heard from the kind officer. A week later, she received a card in the mail from Deputy Dan Hill. It read, “My condolence on the loss of your father. I’m sure he was a great man who loved his family. I pray that your tears of sadness become tears of joy in remembering his legacy.”

Deputy Hill also added a Bible verse: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more. Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore; for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

What a heartwarming story. Deputy Hill could have easily given Headen a ticket and gone about his day. But not only did he decide to give her a break, he went an extra mile to offer her empathy in her time of grief.

Be kind to one another, because we never know what another person might be going through.

Share this on Facebook to brighten someone’s day!
